Return to Yarm Roll Call

The following was taken from the Yorkshire Regiment website

Killed in action 25 Mar 1918. Born at Crathorne, Yorks and enlisted at Stokesley while living at Yarm. Pozieres Memorial, France

Yarm1914 believe that Arthur was born in Crathorne to Robert, a boot maker and Mary J in 1899. He had 2 sisters and 2 brothers living in the Post Office. His eldest living brother had moved out and was a servant at the Charlton household in High Foxton. In 1911 the family were still living in Crathorne and Arthur aged 12 was at school.
